Welcome to Spanish 7!

I am thrilled to be your teacher for Spanish 7! I will give you all of the tools necessary so that you will be successful in my class. My Spanish 7 blog is a resource for you to find homework assignments, links to websites, notes, and class presentations. Please check the blog frequently to ensure you're ready and prepared for each class.

We will cover many exciting topics this year, including: Spanish culture, countries, language and literature. We will use Avancemos as our primary textbook as well as, many supplementary materials: online resources, Realidades textbook series, PowerPoint presentations, video and audio excerpts, guest speakers, and interactive games.

I will hold tutorials for Spanish 7 on Tuesday and Thursday from 3:35 - 4:00. You may be required to attend a tutorial if you are missing an assignment or if you score lower than 75% on any test.

Spanish 7 Required Items

Students in my Spanish 7 class will need certain supplies in order to be successful in their Spanish class:

Required to bring on a daily basis:

1. 3-ring binder with lined paper
2. pencil
3. eraser
4. color pencils
5. pencil sharpener
6. Textbook assigned to student

Sixth grade Rotation

Welcome to the 6th grade Spanish rotation! You will be in my Introduction to Spanish class for the first six weeks of 6th grade.

We will cover many exciting cultural and language topics during your stay in my class. My hope is that you will develop a love for Spanish language and culture, and that you will then study Spanish with me in 7th grade.

Some of the culture topics we will investigate: Food, music, dance, customs, and festivals from a variety of Spanish speaking countries.

Some of the language topics we will investigate: Learn how to express your likes and dislikes. Confidently describe your friends and family. Learn how to introduce yourself and others.

Welcome to Ms. Riordan's Spanish classes!

I am excited to be your Spanish teacher for the 2017-2018 academic year. At Pin Oak Middle School we have a great Foreign Languages program and our team is looking forward to guiding each student through the joys and challenges of learning a language.

I will be teaching the sixth grade rotation, Spanish 7 and Spanish Language Arts this year. I will update this blog with information for each class during the school year. The blog's title will let you know what class is being addressed. Also, you can
