Clothing Design Project


UNIT 4 PROJECT: ¿COMÓ ES TU ROPA?

INSTRUCCIONES: You are a fashion designer getting ready to put out a catalog with your latest clothing line. Your job is to create a catalog with a detailed description of each item and to make a presentation to entice your audience to buy your new clothing line.
YOU WILL MAKE A SMALL POSTER, CATALOG, or ELECTRONIC PRESENTATION WITH YOUR ILLUSTRATIONS or MAGAZINE CUT OUTS SHOWING THE CLOTHING AND CAPTIONS DESCRIBING THE CLOTHING IN SPANISH.
You may work in groups of three, two, or on your own.
YOU WILL INCLUDE:
1) The name of your brand and collection in SPANISH.
2) TWO PARTS: One for males and one for females
3) 8 ITEMS OF CLOTHING / ACCESSORIES for EACH GENDER. (Total of 16 articles of clothing!)
4) 16 COMPLETE DESCRIPTIONS in SPANISH. One per item. [See directions below for more
details…]
YOUR FINAL PRODUCT AND PRESENTATION OF THE CLOTHING PROJECT IS DUE: el 7 / 8 de mayo, 2018.
STEPS TO COMPLETE YOUR CATALOG:
1) Cut out or draw on a separate sheet of paper your items of clothing, 8 for each
gender. Ensure they are the right size for the poster or catalog.
2) Under the Brainstorming Section (next sheet), write a list of the 16 items of clothing, and
their descriptions.
3) Create a label for each article of clothing in Spanish. Use color and be creative!  For
each item, write TWO or THREE SENTENCES with a detailed description in Spanish! You
must use clothing vocabulary, color vocabulary, descriptive adjectives, where it is
made, the price of the clothing.
4) Next, lay out your items and labels on the poster (DO NOT PASTE) and make it look like
an attractive ad.
5) After completing the lay out, paste them. Make sure it is professionally done.
NOTE: Your project must be NEAT, COLORFUL, AND GRAMMATICALLY CORRECT in Spanish.
The oral presentation will consist of three-four minutes per group. You will be graded on
Content, Correct Pronunciation, Volume & Eye Contact.
THIS PROJECT IS A TEST GRADE FOR THIS UNIT.

Fashion Show Instructions: 4/23 or 4/24


Fashion Show
1.       Choose a partner.
2.       Choose clothing items to model (If neither person wants to model, you may use a doll, prop, or video.) Minimum of 3 items. [If you change out of your uniform, you must change back in after the show. Also, do not bring any props that could be misconstrued as weapons. Finally, NO revealing clothing permitted.]
3.       Create a comment card about the fashion modeled. Minimum three sentences.

Example: La niña lleva una chaqueta azul de Louis Vuitton. Un vestido negro. Unos zapatos anaranjados de Gucci.

4.       Bring clothing and comment cards on Monday / Tuesday for the show.
For the Show:
1.       For each group, fill out a comment card about the fashion presented. Two sentences minimum for each group.
2.       Use a dictionary after the group has presented to find vocabulary you don’t know.
Example: Me gusta la falda blanca. ¡Excelente! Los pantalones son horribles. La gorra es roja.
